The Masterplan of this project is composed of a mixed use proposal comprising of 60 luxury residences, a boutique hotel with 60 rooms, restaurant, cafe, veterans services, a parking garage, and rehabilitation of the Echo Bay shoreline into a public waterfront park and adaptive reuse of the Historic Armory into an indoor open market, and a space dedicated to the Veterans services.
The proximity of the train station to the armory site (15 min. walking) makes a strong link between the commercial and residential core of downtown and the Echo Bay waterfront. To revitalize the site, we envision a podium structure embracing and annexing the Armory with an undulating, continuous, eco friendly, green roof with a retail Market and a parking garage, accessed from street level without ramping up. The roof of the podium will serve as an outdoor terrace for the cafe at the mezzanine level of the Armory. This roof will also serve as an outdoor amenity (roof garden with swimming pool) for the mid-rise boutique hotel above the podium with waterfront views. The waterfront will be developed into a public park. This park will seamlessly join the proposed park for the adjacent site to the east of the armory.
