PARK MILLENNIUM TOWER

This penthouse is located on the 45th floor of one of New York City’s upper west side towers with panoramic views of Central Park, Lincoln Center and Hudson River.

The intention here was to create an architecture that would weave technology, sustainability and luxury. Conceptually a smart-home with a brain controlling lighting, heating and cooling, shades, and audio/video systems without compromising the elegance, glamour and luxury of living in a New York tower.

To achieve this marriage, a central system was designed and installed to control different parts of the residence, communicating between different rooms and connecting each part to the center. Radiant heating system was installed through out all floors allowing for the residence to efficiently use the steam provided by the building and cut back the use of electricity. Digital keypads reduce the number of switches, gadgets and machinery while programmed to control heating, air conditioning, humidity, lighting, shading, music, etc.

Inspired by the New York’s Art Deco architecture where art, craft, technology and materials created luxurious spaces and glamorous interiors this penthouse was designed.

A consistent material pallet of dark wenge wood, hand made gold mosaic tiles, LED lit translucent glass, and stone repeat in variety of combinations creating, warmth, tactility, art, and a luxurious environment. Splashes of color are added in each room via hand made Tibetan carpets, silk drapery, furniture and the artwork.
